Greene County Medical Center’s pediatrics clinic opens Monday, April 1, with newly-hired pediatrician Dr. Holly Van de Voort.
CEO Carl Behne noted that “bringing on a full-time pediatrician will fill a service that has long been missing in Greene County for area families. This will give them the much needed close-to-home care for newborns to teens.”
Van de Voort said she is “enthusiastic about bringing comprehensive medical care for newborns, toddlers, children and adolescents to Greene County.”
Originally from Pella, Van de Voort and her husband are moving to the community from the Athens, Georgia, area. “I’m excited to be moving back to Iowa. I look forward to serving the Greene County community,” Van de Voort said.
Van de Voort has been practicing with Piedmont Healthcare in Athens. She is board certified in pediatrics and is a member of the American Academy of Pediatrics. Her medical degree was earned at the Medical College of Georgia, School of Medicine. Her internship/residency was done at the Medical College of Georgia – Children’s Medical Center.
An accomplished musician, Van de Voort is a saxophone player and handbell choir member. She will start seeing patients Monday, April 1. Appointments can be scheduled by calling 515-386-2488.
